Power of a To Do List....

The current days we live in are called the “information age” because of all the ways that we can readily find whatever we need to know.  With the advent of the internet, we can be moved out of ignorance to knowledge about anything in an instant.

If you want to find the closest branch of you bank, you can find about it in seconds.  If you meet someone new that you are interested in, you can google them and find all sorts of information.  I have contacted friends through facebook that I haven’t seen or heard from since elementary school.

With all of this information at our fingertips, it is very easy to get distracted and lose hours surfing the web without any main purpose.  You can look up a week later and realize that you have steered off the course of your desired lifestyle into the world of entrancement on social websites and youtube.

One way that helps me stay focused is a daily "to do" list.  I have one list that I will write in the morning or previous evening of things to do like returning phone calls and e-mails, and other business and personal matters that are constantly changing.  The other list that  have is in the form of a typed and printed chart of all the things that I have to do (or would like to do) every day for my own mental, physical and spiritual evolution.

For me, some of these things include calisthenics, yoga, reading, book keeping etc.  It actually ends up being over twenty things that average about 15 minutes each to complete.  If I did not write it down, I would easily forget a few of these tasks, and after a few days it would fade into the background.  Months later I would think to myself, “Damn, when is the last time I did…”  At least when I write it down, it is always a reminder to stay focused and do what I intend to do.

There are many benefits to having a printed list:
  1. It feels good to check off tasks as you complete them.
  2. You look back at the end of the day and can quantify what you did that day.
  3. It ingrains success into the mind and prepares you for future success.
  4. It attracts success.
  5. It helps avoid the ups and downs of life.
  6. It promotes steady growth.
  7. It stimulates good habits and encourages excellence

Organize your life with "to do" lists and watch your production take off
